7 Days Best of Uganda Safaris provides an incredible experience of Uganda. Driving to Kibale Forest National Park for chimp trekking, then to Queen Elizabeth Park for a wildlife encounter, and finally to Bwindi Forest National Park for gorilla trekking.

DAY 1 Arrival and Transfer to Kibale forest national park

Upon arrival at Entebbe Airport, you will be greeted and transferred to Kibale Forest National Park – located in the western park of Uganda, 5 hours drive with en route lunch and great views of the country’s landscape and people. Later, connect to your lodge to unwind.

DAY 2 Your Plan Connect to Kibale forest

after an early morning breakfast for your chimp tracking experience, bringing snacks and water with you. You will first report at the park head quarters for a briefing before entering the forest for the activity. Expect to see chimps, monkeys, and other animals such as forest elephants, buffaloes, bush pig and duiker, warthogs, reptiles, and a colorful variety of butterflies during your tracking. After an hour with the chimps, return to the Lodge for lunch.

Later in the afternoon, the driver will take you on a nature walk through Bigodi Wetland, where you will be able to hear only the whispers and sounds of birds. While here, you will be able to see a variety of bird species. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge as described above.

DAY 2 Chimpanzee tracking experience and nature walk at Bigodi wetland

Connect to Kibale forest after an early morning breakfast for your chimp tracking experience, bringing snacks and water with you. You will first report at the park head quarters for a briefing before entering the forest for the activity. Expect to see chimps, monkeys, and other animals such as forest elephants, buffaloes, bush pig and duiker, warthogs, reptiles, and a colorful variety of butterflies during your tracking. After an hour with the chimps, return to the Lodge for lunch.

DAY 3 Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park and visit the crater lakes

After breakfast, you will be driven to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s second largest national park. Kibale Forest National Park is a three-hour drive away. You will make a photo stop at the equator before continuing on to the park.

You will then go on a nature walk in the Maramagambo forest and explore the crater lakes. Mweya Safari Lodge/Park View Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight

DAY 4 Morning Game drive and boat cruise at Kazinga Channel

After breakfast, you will depart for a morning game drive in search of early risers in the Kasenyi area. The park’s eco-system is diverse, with grassy plains, rivers, crater lakes, forests, swamps, and lakes. These are home to a variety of wildlife (the big four), and a game drive in Queen Elizabeth will reward you with sightings of lions, leopards, forest hogs, buffalos, elephants, waterbuck, Uganda Kob, and other antelopes.

After lunch, take a three-hour launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. This cruise will take you through an area with the highest concentration of hippos, as well as many animals drinking at the water’s edge. The cruise also provides an excellent platform for photography, bird watching, and games. Dinner and overnight stay at the aforementioned location.

DAY 5 Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

After breakfast, meet the driver for your transfer to Kisoro, a 4-hour drive through the Ishasha sector to see the tree climbing lions, with lunch stopovers. Arrive in the afternoon at the lodge. Ichumbi gorilla lodge dinner and overnight stay (mid range)

DAY 6 Mountain gorilla trekking experience.

This is undoubtedly one of the most exciting days of your safari. Breakfast will be served early, and lunch will be prepared ahead of time. The briefing is scheduled for 7 a.m. Your guide will provide you with highlights of specific details about the gorillas you will be tracking. The hike through the steep, densely forested hills can take anywhere from 2 to 7 hours, and finally coming across the gorillas camouflaged in the vegetation is an inspiring and privileged moment. When you arrive at the gorillas, you are permitted to spend one hour with them while standing 6 meters away. After this magical encounter, you will be driven back to the lodge, where you can relax in the afternoon or go on another adventure.

DAY 7 Transfer to back to Kampala

After an early breakfast, depart for a 6-7 hour journey back to Kampala, stopping for lunch and crossing the Equator. Arrive in the evening, rest, and then connect to your scheduled flight back home. Safari is at an end.
