The Kigali Genocide Memorial is the starting point of this journey, which continues to Nyungwe Forest National Park for chimpanzee trekking and a canopy walk. You’ll also go to the well-known Volcanoes National Park to see the lake and walk at Bisoke. Go on a road journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in south-western Uganda to search for mountain gorillas. After a gorilla trek, your guide will take you to Lake Mburo National Park, a zebra haven.

The 90-meter-long canopy walkway in the Nyungwe Forest National Park in southwest Rwanda is 50 meters above the earth. The soaring platform is located above a deep, steep valley that winds through a vast forest. The largest walkway in East Africa is a 200m long structure with three towers. Nyungwe, which spans hundreds of square meters, is thought to be the oldest and largest afro-montane forest still present in East and Central Africa. It dates back to the last ice age.

Day 4: Mount Bisoke Hiking and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

With a height of 3700 meters and the distinctive conic shape of a “perfect” volcano, Mount Bisoke has a deep crater lake inside of it. Although Mount Bisoke is not an especially difficult volcano to climb, it is nonetheless a difficult walk for those who are interested in doing so. Because of the high altitude, climbers must exert extra effort, and depending on how quickly they walk and how often they rest, the entire journey can last anything from five hours to an entire day. Usually, the ascent takes three hours. You will pass through several different vegetation environments while ascending, starting with bamboo woods, continuing through Hagenia-Hypericum forest, and concluding with Seneci-Lobelia bushes close to the summit. After there, you will descend and travel to western Uganda.

You will finally encounter one of the most sought-after animals, the mountain gorillas, thanks to this ongoing adventure. You will spend a full hour with them after you arrive, observing and learning about their behavior as you capture pictures.

After that, you’ll travel to Lake Mburo National Park, where you’ll spend the night close to the park.
