DAY 1 – ARRIVAL AT KIGALI AIRPORT

On this day you will arrive in your hotel where you will be picked up by one of our company representatives dressed in Amakula African Safaris uniform who will transfer you to your hotel for the night and you prepare for your next days of safari.

DAY 2 – KIGALI CITY TOUR & TRANSFER TO NYUNGWE FOREST NATIONAL PARK 

This morning after breakfast,we shall head out for a city tour within Kigali city where we shall visit the Genocide museum after which we shall transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park. You will check in to your lodge. Nyungwe forest national park is commonly known for canopy walking and chimpanzee trekking. This place is without a doubt the best way to truly appreciate the beautiful vegetation cover of this rainforest.

DAY 3 – BIRD WATCHING AND CANOPY WALK 

You will do a canopy walk, the walk takes approximately 2 hours and it has three sections; the first section is 45m, the second section is 90m, and the third section is 25m. You have great views of the forest inhabitants like the black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys and LHoests monkeys plus lots of different bird species. And later transfer to Volcanoes National Park.

DAY 4 -GORILLA TREKKING EXPERIENCE 

After your breakfast, you will head to the briefing point where you will be given instructions to follow while doing the trekking. This could take 4-7hours depending on where you will find the gorillas.

DAY 5 – VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK | GOLDEN MONKEY TREKKING

After a marverlous breakfast, you will be transferred for briefing about Golden Monkeys. You will start your Golden monkey Trek in the Morning after briefing at 08:00am. While searching for the monkeys once you find them you will spend 1hr with them and experience their interactions.

Day 6- TRANSFER TO LAKE BUNYONYI

After a marverlous breakfast, You will be transferred to lake bunyonyi for relaxation passing via the cyanika border which enters Uganda through the southern border. The journey to Lake Bunyonyi is about 4-6 hours.

DAY 7- A FULL DAY AT LAKE BUNYONYI

At your leisure, you will get the chance to do activities like quad biking, swimming among others while having your full day at lake bunyonyi.

DAY 8- QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK |TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK 

At your leisure, you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park Ishasha sector, arriving in time for a hot lunch at the lodge where you will rest in preparation for your next safari days in the park.

DAY 9 – TREE CLIMBING LIONS EXPERIENCE & TRANSFER TO THE KYAMBURA SECTOR OF THE PARK

After your breakfast, you will head to the park to view the tree climbing lions and after which you will transfer to the kyambura sector and within a duration of like 2 hours after your experience with the tree climbing lions, you will be at the next lodge for lunch.

DAY 10- GAME DRIVE AND AFTERNOON BOAT CRUISE|

After an early morning warm up tea or coffee, you will head for a game drive along Kasenyi tracks and Queens mile in search of animals like: lions, elephants, cape buffalos, warthogs, spotted hyenas, mangoose, waterbucks, kobs and, if you are lucky you will spot tree climbing lions. And later in the afternoon you will head out for an afternoon boat cruise after having your lunch.

DAY 11-  Transfer to kibale forest national park| 

After breakfast with driver/guide will set off to Western Uganda, to Fort Portal. Traveling on both asphalt and unpaved roads, you pass through traditional Ugandan Villages where you see people at work tending their traditional crops. Keep your eyes open for a variety of birds that perch on the fence rows and power lines along the way. the drive takes 5 to 7 hours so we will arrive in time in Fort Portal for lunch. After lunch we will shake off the drive with a walk to the Bigodi swamp. The Bigodi Swamp is a paradise for bird watchers. Skilled birders can spot up to fifty new species on a bird list. Today, 138 species of bird have been recognized within the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary and among the major bird species within the sanctuary is the grand Blue Turaco. The swamp also harbours several primates’ species like the red colobus monkey, baboon, black & white colobus monkey, blue monkey grey cheeked, mangabey, vervet monkey.

DAY 12 – CHIMPANZEE TREKKING EXPERIENCE & Transfer to Murchison falls national park

After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing after which you will embark on a chimp tracking excursion. These primates are very mobile and viewing them is unpredictable but a forest walk is an enriching activity that starts at 8.00 am taking about 4 hours. This forest is home to a large number of chimpanzees and other primates including L’hoestes, Red-colobuses, Blues, Red-tailed, grey cheeked mangabeys, birds, and butterflies. Your expert guide will share the secrets of the forest’ flora and fauna, ensuring that the trail is both informative and enjoyable. Though much harder to see, the park is also home to buffalo, leopard, bushpig, elephant and duiker along with 144 species of butterflies.

Day 13 – MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK|MORNING GAME DRIVE AND AFTERNOON BOAT CRUISE.

Today, we shall have an early morning breakfast and go for a game drive in the park before. Murchison falls harbors 76 mammal species and 451 bird species and its home of the world’s most powerful waterfall. You will have perfect opportunities to take as many pictures as possible of the animals. Later in the afternoon after lunch, you will go for an amazing boat cruise that will pass you to different animal and bird species up to the bottom of Murchison Falls and hike to the top of falls. The river Nile squeezes its self in a 7m gorge and produces a thunderous roar before it plunges into the devil’s cauldron.

Day 14 – ENTEBBE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT| TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT FOR DEPATURE

After your breakfast, you will transfer to the airport passing via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary with time allowing. At the airport you catch your flight back home.

Where there are overland sectors, the 4×4 Safari Vehicles and safari guide will be at the clients’ exclusive use which provides great flexibility. The guide will accompany clients on all overland sectors, assist with check-in at accommodation and share his knowledge on the flora and fauna of Uganda | Kenya | Rwanda | Tanzania

    • Any Gorilla and Chimpanzee permits required need to be paid for upfront when booking. As soon as funds clear in our account, we will go ahead and purchase.
    • Gorilla and Chimpanzee permits cannot be held with the Uganda Wildlife Authority in advance of payment and Rwanda Development Board – they are only secured once physically paid for.
    • Gorilla and Chimpanzee permits are always 100% non-transferable and non-refundable.
    • There is a minimum age limit for gorilla tracking which is strictly 15 years.
