DAY 1 Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

Depending on your location in Kampala, you will be picked-up by our company representative/guide to set off to Queen Elizabeth national park. The park is located in the western part of the country. Via Masaka road, you will have a stopover at the equator where you will be able to take photographs and visit the craft shop connect to Mbarara town lunch en route. On arrival to the park in Kasese district, you will proceed and check in your lodge for relaxation.

Accommodation: Mweya Safari lodge/Parkview Safari lodge/Pumba lodge – Half board

DAY 2 Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise.

You’ll get up early, eat breakfast, and board a boat for an early morning game drive in the Kasenyi region. Expect to see the big four game on the game drive, including antelopes, giraffes, warthogs, and white Colobus monkeys, to name a few. After that, you’ll return to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will go on a launch cruise along the Kazinga channel, where you will be able to see a variety of bird species, elephants and buffalos, hippos and crocodiles on the lakeshores. Return to the lodge and relax, with full board meals as described above.

DAY 3 Chimpanzee/primate tracking and transfer to Bwindi

After breakfast, you will depart with your tracking gear for Chimpanzee tracking in Queen Elizabeth National Park. During the tracking, you will descend a gorge with views of a magical lush mature tropical forest thriving below sea level and supporting chimp counts. Hiking the gorge’s steep slopes in search of the chimps is difficult, but finally encountering them is a once-in-a-lifetime experience as you will find them rolling on tree branches, making pant hooting calls. You will also see black and white Colobus monkeys and olive baboons. The walk usually takes about 25 hours.

After tracking, stop for lunch before beginning your 4-5 hour drive to Bwindi National Park. Arrive in the park late in the afternoon and connect to your lodge for some rest and relaxation. Dinner will be served, and you will spend the night in your reserved lodge.
Gorilla Safari Lodge/Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge – Half Board

DAY 4 Your Gorilla Trekking experience

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the park offices for a briefing on Mountain Gorilla trekking by a local guide. The time required ranges between 2 and 8 hours, depending on the movement of the gorillas. Unexpectedly meeting gorillas is one of the most captivating lifetime experiences. You will be able to observe and photograph wildlife up close. Adults will be feeding and groaning among themselves. After an hour with the eagerly anticipated gorillas, your guide and rangers will lead you back to the starting point, where your driver will be waiting to transport you back to the lodge for a relaxing evening. Take your meals and spend another night at the lodge as described above.

DAY 5 Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi – Boat/canoe trip to the islands.

Breakfast will be served before departing for Lake Bunyonyi from Bwindi. The drive is pleasant, with scenic landscapes and misty distant views of rolling hills. The drive takes two hours.
Arrive at the lake early in the afternoon and take a boat/canoe trip to some of the lake’s historical 29 islands, such as Kyahugye Island, where you can see wildlife such as Zebras, waterbucks, impalas, and kobs. Visit Akampeine Island, where pregnant unmarried girls were dumped to die, and then Bwama and Njuyeera Islands, where missionary Dr. Leonard Sharp established a leper colony. Return to the lodge in the evening to relax and unwind.

DAY 6 Transfer to Entebbe & Departure

After your delicious breakfast, you embark on your journey back to Entebbe which lasts for about 8-9 hours with en route lunch in Mbarara. Depending on your departure arrangements, the driver will drop you either at a lodge in Entebbe or at the Airport for your evening flight. End of 6 Days trip.
